The Bible Says When Two Or More Are In Agreement

“Jesus says that whenever the Church follows a process of reconciliation with someone and is involved in a process of reconciliation that has refused to turn around, she can be sure that God`s blessing is with them in their efforts. In other words, when the Church makes judicial decisions on legal and unjust issues based on the truth of God`s Word, she should be able to trust in the fact that she is doing the right thing and that Christ himself is there with them, spiritually present in their midst. » 12, 13. How do you feel about that? If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them is wrong, it is another of those grave proverbs that our Lord has uttered more than once. See on the magnificent parable of the lost sheep in Luke 15:4-7 . Only the object there is to show what the good shepherd will do, even if only one of his sheep is lost to find it; Here, the object is supposed to show how reluctant he is to lose it when found. As a result, it is added that God`s love and faithfulness are eternal and that His mercy is every day new. Let us love as he loves, forgive, as he forgives, seeks justice and loves mercy, and enjoy his many blessings when we deal with the things that walk on the Lord`s path. His path is always the best way. But when you pray, go to your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is hidden. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you. It sounds good, but when you think about it, you start to hear the discord. If God is with us only if two or more believers are gathered, what happens if I pray alone? We know that when the Church makes communion and worship of Christ, he is there, and we know that he is there every time a believer prays in private.

This raises the question: is this verse beyond prayer? There is no need to point fingers or pop the dunce cap; this is a simple mistake if you are not familiar with the original context. The goal of looking at the abused verses is to encourage us to take a closer look at the writing and learn the context of what we read. We are not the original audience of the Gospel of Matthew, so we have to work a little harder to understand what the details mean. What I mean is that we do not know the culture, history, style of writing and cross-sectional references of the Alttestament, like someone who lived in Matthew`s time. 20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, or “in my name.” I am in their midst, so full of sublime encouragement to Christian union in action and prayer – first observes the bond in which it finds itself. Our Lord had spoken of ecclesial assemblies before which the obstinate perversity of a brother was to be brought to the final instance and whose decision had to be final – it is the honour that the Lord of the Church has established at his legitimate assemblies. But it is not these assemblies that he has only on the face and honour.
