Ucla Smc Articulation Agreement

Santa Monica College`s articulation agreements with California State University and the University of California are available on the assist website on the inter-institutional transfer articulation system. We have articulation agreements with private/independent colleges in California and printed counseling guides in the counseling department for those marked with an asterisk * Articulation is the process that connects two educational institutions to allow students to smoothly transition from Community College to college or college, without delay or duplication. Courses at Community College are identified as equivalent to courses at the university. This allows students to meet an academic requirement by posting an identified equivalent course (articulated course) at Community College. This equivalence or articulation can be achieved from one course to another, for the main requirements and/or for the general educational requirements. In some cases, courses are only expressed as optional (identified) subjects. This means that, although the course is transferred, the course does not meet any of the requirements mentioned above. El Camino College`s articulation agreements with California State University and the University of California are available on the Articulation System Inter-Institutional Transfer Site. ASSIST is an online information system for student transfers, which shows how course points earned at a public California Community College can be applied when they enter a four-year California university.
